Anna Maria Island : Coquina beach

Walk the bridge is bringing up your next place to travel. From all the places that I been visiting, Coquina beach on Anna Maria Island is one of my favorite places to go.

Anna Maria Island

If you looking for a get away, to one of the best beaches in Florida, where the sand is like sugar power, turquoise waters, big pine trees, fishing spots, family friendly, quiet and relaxing beach. I got you cover, keep reading.

Anna Maria Island, also called Anna Maria key is one of the best places to visit in the  state of Florida. Is a barrier Island on the west coast of Manatee county (Gulf of Mexico) in the state of Florida, United States.

The Island is conformed for three beaches, Holmes beach, Bradenton beach and Coquina beach. All of the three beaches, preserve the traditional Florida life style, where the old charm of Florida can be found.

On the Southern end of Anna Maria Island is located Coquina beach. It's has one of the "best white sugar sand" that any beach on the United States. That's is my opinion, but also recently I read an article about Coquina beach on the "Bradenton Herald news" stating exactly the same thing. According to them, Coquina beach is ranking top beaches in the world. Is the number one in America and the Fifth best Island "beach sand" in the world.

With the turquoise waters of the Gulf, white powder sugar sands, this beach is unbelievable beautiful. A must place to see it. Even if you are only passing by.

Those pictures I took without filter at the end of winter (spring break). Was rainy night day before, but with all of that, we have a gorgeous sunny day with magnificent bright sun and  cozy temperature.

It's totally right Florida state slogan > Florida endless summer. To be on winter this temperature was amazing.

One thing that my family loves to do, is fishing and you can do it on one site of the beach, around the bridge that connects with Boat Island or booking a fishing trip.

Pine trees are line up around Coquina Beach, that gives a wonderful shade to the park, where you can rent a pavilions to cook out, get together with your family or friends.

High rise condos and fast food restaurants are absent from the area. 35 mph is the speed limit, to make this place a get away place from it all.

You must know that this Island never promote the community for "spring break" .  And they never will do that. Because it will contradict the "old Florida feel" .

There's many rental houses, small hotels and cottage around. As well independent restaurants along the Island, where the best menu are fresh Fish such as snapper, red fish or snook.

If you are a honeymooner, or have a family reunion rentals are the best. But, you have to book in advance (I am not kidding about it), since space on the beach area is limited. Otherwise you can get a hotel outside of the Island (25 or 30 minutes traffic) .

A soon you enter to the Island, there is many places for boat rentals and boats trips to the ocean, to see the waters of the Gulf of Mexico beautiful dolphins or trips for fishing and diving. They taking long group of people, you can book in advance or same day.

As I give you all my experience of this "detox Island" where looks like time does not pass and tranquility of this beautiful beach is a therapy for the soul. I must say is a wonderful pleasure to write about Coquina Beach on Anna Maria Island.
